In 2003, after a classical training at the Lyceum "Giuseppe Mazzini" in Genoa, he was awarded a degree in the conservation of cultural heritage from the University of Genoa. He specialized in prehistoric and protohistoric archaeology at the Statal University of Milan in 2007 and obtained a Ph.D. from the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro
