Reynolds, James

Jim Reynolds is a Lecturer in Drama at Kingston. His Ph.D. Research at Queen Mary, University of London investigated performance practices in Robert Lepage's devised theatre. Prior to undertaking doctoral research, Jim worked as a Drama teacher and in the theatre industry. He has led a range of devised, applied and youth theatre projects, and mounted work on London stages. His published work has explored Howard Barker's direction of his own plays, Lepage's work with objects, the cinematic adaptation of graphic novels, and applied theatre and the relationship between addiction and performance. Forthcoming work explores the National Theatre's adaptations of children's literature for the stage, the challenges of acting the Barker text, and Lepage's work as a director. In 2012, Jim co-organised an international, interdisciplinary conference at Kingston on the theme of Addiction and Performance, and is presently co-editing a book of the same name for publication in 2014.
