Merchant, Peter

He specialises in research into digital literacy and is particularly interested in the inter-relations between children and young people, new technology and literacy. He is research convenor for the United Kingdom Literacy Association and a member of the association's Executive Committee and National Council. He has been a core-group member of number of Economic and Social Research Council-funded seminar series and recently co-directed 'Children and Young People's Digital Literacies in Virtual Online Spaces'.
