He is Associate Professor in the Art Department's Film and Media Studies Program, and the faculty director of the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies (CREEES). Research Interests: European cinema (emphasis on Eastern Europe), aesthetics and ideology, film and media theory, experimental cinema, and intersections of theory and practice.
