Rafael Yanushevsky received a BS in mathematics, a MS in electromechanical engineering and his PhD in optimalization of multivariable systems. After immigration to the United States in December 1987, he started teaching at the University of Maryland and at the University of the District of Columbia. Since 1999, he has been involved in projects related to the aerospace industry.
