Tim Allen is Reader in Development Studies at the London School of Economics (2000); Lecturer in the Development Studies Inst., London School of Economics, and Sr. Visiting Lect. at the Open Univ.; He has carried out long-term fieldwork in Uganda and Sudan; Tim Allen has expertise in the fields of complex emergencies, ethnic conflict, forced migration, local conception of health and healing, East Africa (especially Sudan, Uganda and Kenya), development aid and agencies and ethics of aid.
