Kellie received her BA in German and Politics from New York University in 2000. Subsequent to teaching EFL to both children and adults in Voralberg, Austria, she came to the University of Berne and completed her Lizentiat in 2005. She completed her PhD in October 2009 entitled Language and Identity Performance among Intercultural Couples: An Interactional Approach. It is a localized qualitative study of Anglophones married to native Swiss German speakers residing in the geographic area of Interlaken. She is currently working on two projects within the framework of mobility and globalization.
