Senior constituency group of the Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). Founded by A. Philip Randolph (1889 - 1979) and Bayard Rustin (1912 - 1987) as an organisation of black trade unionists to fight for racial equality and economic justice.
