Associate Professor in the Department of International Law at the Polish Institute of International Relations (PIIR) in Warsaw, Poland, 1971-1981. Associate Professor at the Tilburg University and Limburg University Faculty of Law, 1981-1985. Professor of Internatioanl Law of the Sea, Deputy Director of the Netherlands Institute for the Law of the Sea (NILOS), 1985-2012 and NILOS Senior Fellow at Faculty of Law, Economics & Governance- School of Law, 2009-2012 at the Utrecht University Faculty of Law. At present she serves, inter alia, as a board member of leading journals on the international law of the sea and many other professional societies
