Was a collegiate diving coach for 37 years, the last years as head diving coach at Indiana University. Received his doctorate from the University of Nebraska in educational psychology with an emphasis in cognitive processing differences between elite and non-elite athletes. Was also adjunct assistant professor part-time in the Department of Kinesiology at Indiana University. Currently on faculty as Professor of Practice in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Indiana University.
