Philosopher and a logician (manṭiqī); he is thought to have been born in Sijistān during the first quarter of the tenth century and to have died in Baghdad during the last quarter of the tenth century; succeeded Yaḥyā ibn 'Adī as a head of the Aristotelian School of Baghdad
