Her research interests include images of children in film, television, and new media; Race and Identity Politics; African Cinema; Cultural Studies; New Hollywood Cinema; video game theory; and world literature. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Red Feather Journal: an International Journal of Children’s Popular Culture (www.redfeatherjournal.org) and Series Editor for Lexington Book's Children and Youth in Popular Culture series.
